Day 1: Kigali City Tour, Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Take breakfast at your hotel followed by our driver guide picking you up to start a 2 day trip to Volcanoes National Park. During the Kigali City tour, you will visit places that include some of the major Kigali City attractions like the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the biggest in Rwanda. This genocide center was set up in commemoration of the over 250,000 Rwandese mainly of Hutu ethnicity that were massacred around the place. During the 1994 Rwanda Genocide the engulfed the country, about a million lives were claimed. Other places to visit in Kigali also include Kimironko Market, Kigali City Tower, Inema Arts Centre and many more plus moving around to enjoy the sights and sounds of Kigali, one of the cleanest cities in Africa. Africa moving around the city, you will have a delicious lunch and then leave for the Volcanoes National Park. Overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Muhabura Hotel or Kinigi Guest House on full board.

Day 2: Trek Golden Monkeys and Transfer Back to Kigali

Have breakfast and then check out of the lodge to transfer to Volcanoes National Park offices for briefing. The briefing is followed by the trekking adventure in the forest. The Golden Monkey tracking exercise is almost similar to gorilla trekking encounters in terms of permit bookings, road transfers, pre-tracking briefing, hiking up to meeting them plus time spend with them. Golden monkey trips entail permit booking, transfer to the park, understanding the trekking guidelines, walking in the jungle to meet the monkeys, spending 1 hour with the jolly primates and returning from the forest to drive back to Kigali. After seeing the monkeys in their natural dwelling forest, transfer to the nearby hotel or lodge for lunch and then driving back to Kigali where you will arrive in the evening. This marks the end of the 2 day Kigali city tour and Golden monkey tracking in Rwanda.
