3 Day Chimpanzee Habituation Kibale Forest National Park

The 3 Days Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale National Park entails visitors coming and being near the chimps for a full day in the forest.  The habituation adventure starts early in the morning after breakfast and visitors return in the evening after a day’s work.

These include elephants, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, black and white colubus monkeys, leopards, duikers, buffalos, warthogs, bush pigs, African golden cats and the mongooses plus many others. The park has as variety bird species plus butterflies that add value to your safari experience.

Kibale National Park found in western Uganda occupies an area of 795 Square kilometers. The park that is 326 kilometers from Kampala has a great deal of biodiversity including over 70 mammal species and 351 tree species among which are 200 years old and about 55 meters in height. There are 13 primate species compromising of chimpanzees, Uganda Mangabey (Lophocebus ugandae), Ugandan Red Colobus (Procolobus tephrosceles), the L’Hoest’s Monkey species, White and Black Colobus Monkeys and many more. Around 375 bird species including the Kibale ground Thrush have been record in the park.

The park is key to the works of conservationists and researchers. In the park is also a Makerere University Biological Field Station with a properly setup tourism center at Kanyanchu that manages affairs related to tourism activities in the area.

Tour Highlights of the 3 Days Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale National Park Uganda

Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Kibale National Park for Habituation Adventure

You will get pikced up from Kampala or Entebbe in the morning and the trip to Kibale Forest begins. You will drive via Mityana, Mubende Kyenjojo and then connect to Kabale Forest where you will arrive in the afternoon hours. You will have lunch, take part in  a community walk and later relax at the lodge. Overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp, Primates Lodge, Chimp Nest or Crater Safari Lodge on Full Board.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience in Kibale Forest.

Take breakfast in the morning and then be transferred to the park office for registration and briefing on the rules pertaining the chimpanzee habituation experience in the forest. You will have a full day enjoying the chimps at a very close range. You will learn more about their behaviors and other traits. You will have your packed lunch from the bush. In the evening, return to the lodge for overnight and dinner. Overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp, Primates Lodge, Chimp Nest or Crater Safari Lodge on Full Board.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, check out of the lodge to begin transfer back to Kampala. Arrive in the afternoon. After lunch Speke Hotel in Kampala, your driver guide will either drop you to your accommodation or Entebbe for any imminent flight.
