Detailed Horseback Riding Itinerary 

Early in the morning, a professional driver guide from Animal Safaris will pick you up from an agreed venue in Kampala city to commence a day’s horse tour to Jinja. You will drive straight to the to start-up venue off  Jinja/Njeru-Kayunga road. On arrival at the venue, you will be allocated a horse-ride guide to take you through the whole adventure. After briefing and when the guide is contented that it is ideal to begin the safari, you will set off for the ride going via the known routes along the Nile. The unique ride through the rural Uganda in some stunning areas along the banks of the River Nile is amazing. The special advanced riding trips you can also experience the views from the village hills overlooking the magnificent River Nile.

Horse ride trips are escorted by two or more guides based on the numbers.
If you begin in a group, some riders may break off tentatively along the
way taking different directions to facilitate more experienced riders to
stride at a more progressive pace and letting the not so confident riders
continue within their comfort zone. Fitting Helmets are provided by the
horse operators even though one is at liberty to come along with an own
helmet that perfectly fits one’s head. Biking and Kayaking Helmets are as
well ideal for horseback expeditions.

For safety and enjoyment, wear closed shoes like boots or trainers if
possible with heels. Long pants are ideal for one’s comfort whereas Sun
protection cream, a Camera and a small bottle of water are good for the
tour. All the horses have got saddlebags to convey your gear and a
raincoat is allocated to every horse for each rider.

After horse riding tour, there are other things to do in Jinja that you may need to enjoy. These include visiting the source of River Nile, go bungee jumping, boat cruise, visit Kalagala or Itanda Falls, go to Samuka Island or take relaxation at any of the many hideout places in Jinja. Whitewater Rafting is also possible but this should be done first in the morning for half day and then accompanied by horse riding in the afternoon or evening.
