Day 1: Travel to Kibale from Kampala

You will be picked up from Kampala in the morning and start your journey to Kibale Forest. You will have lunch enroute during this 6 hour journey. But in case of an early driving from Kampala, you will have lunch at the lodge in the early afternoon hours. Overnight at the Kyaninga Lodge (Luxury) Primates Lodges (Midrange) and Kibale Forest Camp (Budget)

Day 2: Enjoy Chimpanzee Tracking and Nature Walk 

chimpTake breakfast and go for chimpanzee safari in the forest after some briefing by the park staffs.  During the forest hike, you will bump into the chimpanzee groups and chances are high that you will see more primate species including the red tailed monkeys and colobus monkeys among others that inhabit the jungle. The chimps trek will offer a chance spot a numerous primates, birds and insects like butterflies as you walk along the forest trails. Primate trekking and chimpanzee habituation expereince make Kibale one of the best chimp trekking spots in Uganda. After chimpanzee tracking, back to the lodge for lunch followed by an afternoon nature trek in the Bigodi Swamp. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is found in Magombe swamp and is an ideal area for admiring nature and its treasures.

Bigodi is famous for a wealth of biodiversity like primates including the black and white L’Hoest monkey, red colobus monkey, grey cheeked, colobus monkey, mangabey, vervet monkey, red tailed monkey, blue monkey and the baboon. There are mammals like bush pigs; sitatungas, bush bucks and otters. Primates like the mongooses and chimps also visit the Bigodi wetland from Kibale forest. Bigodi Swamp is as well a delight for birders as it has 138 species of birds that have been recognized. Famous in the swamp is one of the main bird species, the great blue turaco and dozens of birds. In the evening, retire for overnight at the like at Day 1.

Day 3: Drive Back to Kampala

In the morning after breakfast, you will start a drive back to Kampala taking 6 hours on the way. You may have lunch in Mityana town to in Kampala basing on the duration along the way. The driver will transfer you to your booked hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. End of the Uganda Chimpanzee Safari.
