3 Days Mount Elgon Trekking Tour

Mount Elgon Trekking tour is an amazing and unique Uganda memorable adventure safari experience. When you climb the 4,321 metre extinct volcano, you will see beautiful landscapes, exception plants, abundant bird species and some primates. The magnificent Mountain Elgon offers a rare chance to hike safely and return without any dangers that would ruin the soothing adventure experience. Mount Elgon National Park, in Eastern Uganda, is a very beautiful place to visit especially a hike to the wonderful Sipi Falls. There is a camp built around a croft-like house, originally built as a Governor’s retreat, on a cliff directly overlooking the mesmerizing falls.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Mount Elgon, Visit Sseibwa Falls enroute.

Mount Elgon Climbing tour starts early morning when a driver guide picks you up taking Kampala-Jinja highway towards eastern Uganda . You will make a brief stop at Ssezibwa Falls in Mukono for a simple nature walk around the water falls. After visiting the falls, proceed with your safari to Mbale town where you will arrive in midday hours. Have lunch in Mbale and then after advance to the mountain on the side of Sipi Falls. Arrive in the late afternoon or early evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Sipi River Lodge, Sipi Falls Resort or Lacam Lodge on full board.

Day 2: Visit the Communities, Coffee Plantains and trek to the Sipi Falls and caves

In the morning after breakfast, you will start from Mount Elgon Forest Exploration Centre and take a guided walk around this area. Then make a walk through the local Sabiny people communities, visit the coffee plantations and later return for a finest lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, you will be guided to the core of the Sipi Falls at the bottom where the water hits the rocks from up the cliff. Stand still, listen as you watch wonders of nature, of course not forgetting a rare photo opportunity at the scene. Its just an amazing exceptional experience being at such water falls. Later on, you head up to the Caves and return to the lodge. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at Sipi River Lodge, Sipi Falls Resort or Lacam Lodge on full board.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala, visit the Source of River Nile enroute in Jinja

In the morning having enjoyed your breakfast, leave for Kampala with a stop in Jinja for lunch and some tours around this tourism zone. While in Jinja, you will visit the Source of River Nile where there is an opportunity for a boat cruise on the waters. From the Nile source, continue with journey to Kampala. You will arrive in the evening, marking a successful accomplishment of a 3 days Mount Elgon hiking adventure.
