4 Days Kidepo Valley Safari

The 4 days Kidepo Valley Safari takes you to Kidepo National Park is found in North Eastern Uganda. The park borders Sudan and Kenya in the extreme corner in the Northeast of Uganda. During a tour to Kidepo Valley, expect to do game drives plus cultural visits to kraals and Karimajong homesteads called Manyatas. You will also do hiking and Scenery viewing of the rolling Savannah grasslands and nature walks among others.

The park comprises rolling Savannah grassland and rugged spectacular mountain landscape. Accessing the park can be by road or by Air from Entebbe. Of Uganda’s park, Kidepo National Park is among the wildest, original African parks in Africa , giving a wonderful experience of nature and game watching.

Day 1: Departure for Kidepo Valley Safari

By Air
From Entebbe International Airport, take a chartered light aircraft to Kidepo at Apoka Lodge. After lunch, enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley and photographic opportunities of wildlife from the veranda of the lodge. An evening game drive along the Narus River Valley for game Viewing and photography of Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer and possibly Lions and others.

By Road
Alternatively, a traveller can use road from Kampala, a drive goes through Mbale, Soroti via Moroto covering a distance of 840 kilometres, a 12-hour journey in which 4 Wheel Drive vehicles are most suitable. This means, the tour activities at the park begin the next day and the programe at the park almost remains the same. Dinner and overnight at Apoka Lodge.

Day 2: Game Drive in Kidepo Valley

After breakfast go for morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. A number of faunas can be seen roaming around like the Ostrich. Get back to the lodge for for lunch and use the afternoon to have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamjong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Interact and chart with local elders and they will show you their animal kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. Go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
Also enjoy wildlife and African landscape during this wonderful Kidepo Valley Safari. Full board accommodation in Apoka Lodge.

Day 4
After breakfast visit the bird hide and enjoy a guided nature walk, marking the conclusion of your safari to Kidepo Valley. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch board your chartered flight back to Entebbe where you will be picked to Kampala in the evening. With road, you can have over night at the Apoka Lodge or drive to Mbale town for overnight.
