Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo dates for 2017 confirmed

Uganda Tourism Board has confirmed dates at which it will be hosting the third Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo 2017 (POATE-2017). The event will be held from the 17th to 19th, February 2017 at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala.

The main objective of hosting the expo is to create a collective networking podium for the tourism industry in Uganda and also bring stakeholders from the broader region as well as the overseas tourism market sources.

The Expo is a yearly occurrence that attracts together tour operators, travel agents, destination managers, hoteliers plus other service providers for a common cause of sharing tourism value standards. The event offers an exceptional opportunity for the tour operators to meet new clients, market and network besides discussing business from a wider scope.

During the event, Uganda gets the opportunity showcase what it offers in terms of tourism products. The country’s mountain gorillas, Chimpanzees and other attractions feature prominently during the show. Uganda has got 10 National Parks and prominent among them are Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Murchison Falls, Rwenzori Mountains, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley and Kibale National Park. Others are Lake Mburo, Semuliki, Mount Elgon and Mgahinga National Park on which Uganda’s tourism mainly thrives. There are also several other attractions and tourist sites whose activities supplement well those of the national park to make Uganda Safaris and Tours successfully carried out.

The Vision of UTB is to work with tourism partners to develop the POATE into among the most active networking platforms in the whole of East African Region in the shortest time conceivable. In that background, the POATE is seeking to invite only those buyers plus media personnel that will surpass the prospects of the sellers and warranty a ‘return on investment’ for Uganda.

It was also confirmed that UTB aims at bringing in at least 100 hosted buyers and tourism / travel media from USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Russia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Finland and Spain.

Other source countries include Israel, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Japan, UAE, India, Morocco, Malaysia, India, China plus South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Ghana, Nigeria and many more African countries.
