Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, do a an evening Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

This day you will start your journey from Kampala heading southwestern Uganda. Make a first stop at the Uganda Equator for photography moments, then proceed via Mbarara town via Bushenyi district to the park. On arrival, you will check in at the lodge, have lunch and later transfer to Mweya Peninsula, the base for all boat cruises on Kazinga Channel. During this 2 hours drive, you will spot quiet many animals including buffaloes, elephants, hippos, antelopes plus many birds as they quench their thirsty on the channel’s fresh waters. After the wonderful boat cruise, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation Options include Enganzi Lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Enganzi Lodge (Midrange), Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge or Pumba Safari Cottages (Budget) with meal plan on full board.

Day 2: Game Drives and return to Kampala

You will have an early morning game drive safari in the northern area of the park through large expanses of Savannah grasslands, the Kasenyi Plains. You will obverse solitary buffaloes, lions that love the area owing to abundance of the preys especially the Uganda Kobs, elephants and large herds of antellopes. There are also sightings of water bucks, hippos as well as nice sightseeing of the shadows of the Rwenzori Mountains. Brief Information about the Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the major tourist sites in western Uganda is the country’s second largest conservation area covering 1978 square kilometers. The park is positioned between the districts of Kasese, Bundibugyo, Bushenyi and Kanungu. It takes about 6 hours’ drive for visitors to access the park from Kampala on road through Mbarara (420km) or Fort Portal (410km). Whereas those from south west of Uganda like Bwindi access this realm through the famous Ishasha sector, the home to tree-climbing lions in Uganda.

The park has multitude of wildlife diversities from bushy grassland, Acacia woodland, Lake-shore or swamp vegetation along with forest grassland to Fauna. The park is a home to over 95 mammal species like the Cape buffaloes, Uganda Kob, water bucks, warthogs, lion, leopard, hyena, giant forest hog African elephants, topis in the Ishasha as well as chimpanzees in Kyambura gorge plus bats and birds in Maramagambo Forest. Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve, a neighbor to the park has also got chimpanzees and other primates. For birders, there are more than 612 species of birds that live in this park.
