A Former US President to tour Kidepo National Park

The Five Living Former US Presidents. From L-R:- George Walker Bush (Senior), Barack Obama, George Bush (Junior), Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

One of the five living former US presidents is set to visit Uganda and tour Kidepo Valley National Park in particular.

This was revealed by the Executive Director Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), Dr Andrew Seguya, who declined to name the former head of the world’s biggest economy for security reasons.

“We may not know who it is yet but what we definitely know is that there are five living former US presidents: Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Whoever it is on any of the five personalities above, we shall know once he has visited,” Dr. Seguya told the press at Apoka Lodge, Kidepo Valley’s most luxurious accommodation facility.

Whoever it is among these five, information has it that that the ex-US leader will come on the heels of other high-profile people who have visited the park measuring 1,442 square kilometres in the Karamoja region in northeast Uganda.

High profile personalities that have visited the far-flung park include Prince Charles and Prince William of Britain, US singer and actress Alicia Keys, US business magnate and investor Bill Gates and other actors of repute from Hollywood.

“Our time here is very limited at this table,” Seguya told a press conference at Apoka Safari Lodge. “This is because management has a very important guest.”

“I guess you have seen the chopper in the skies since you arrived here. Half of the rooms here have been booked, at USd 580 per night, for a week!” Dr. Seguya said.
