4 Days Gorilla Trekking Virunga

This gorilla trekking safari takes you to Virunga National Park on the Eastern side of Congo. You can access the park from Kisoro district of Uganda. You will also have an opportunity to hike active volcanoes as you search for the Mountain Gorillas living in the tropical rain forest.

Arrival Day 1: Overnight in Entebbe or Kampala

Our tour guide/driver meets you at Entebbe airport and takes you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for dinner and overnight: – Imperial Resort Beach Hotel or The Lodge.

Day 2:  Safari to Kisoro, Enroute scenic views, Cultural tour

After enjoying breakfast, begin you safari to Kisoro town in the far southwest of Uganda. You will pause for photographs at the equator on your way to Mbarara for lunch. This route offers you impressive views of undulating hills covered with lush vegetation and farmlands, the typical Ankole cows and the terraced hills of Kigezi. Overnight at Kisoro Tourist Hotel.

Day 3: Gorilla tour, birding safari experience in Virunga Park

Wake up early in the morning, warm your body with a cup of Ugandan coffee or tea head for the Uganda-Congo border where your Mountain Gorilla tracking adventure in the Virunga Park of Congo starts. A briefing from the park authorities helps you to know the dos and don’ts while in this gorilla home. This is a great tour experience offering you an opportunity to observe and photograph the gorillas at close range. You will have to carry packed lunch and drinking water. Overnight at Kisoro Tourist Hotel.

Day 4: Drive Back to Kampala, lunch enroute. End of safari.
