Day 1: Arrival at the Airport in Kigali.
Upon your arrival at Kigali international airport, our company representative will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel in Kigali for your night stay. Dinner and overnight stay at Kigali Serena (luxury), Flame Tree village (mid-range) and Garr Hotel (budget).
Day 2. Kigali city tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Our guide/driver will pick you from the hotel after breakfast, take you through the itinerary and start the journey to volcanoes national park. You will first have a city tour where you will visit the genocide memorial, Rwanda national museum and after lunch, you will proceed to the park a home of endangered mountain gorillas. Reaching the park, check in to the lodge and later transfer to Ibyiwacu Cultural Village where to spend the rest of the evening. Get back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at mountain gorilla view lodge (luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (mid-range), Muhabura hotel (budget).
Day 3. First Gorilla tracking and evening nature walk.
After your morning breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarter a long side with your tracking gears, drinking water and packed lunch for a short briefing by the park warden about gorilla tracking. The guide will lead you to the gorilla tracking point trail and start searching the endangered primates in the forest.
Trekking gorillas may take between 1 to 8 hours depending on the location and movement of these apes in their natural world. Upon seeing the gorillas all the fatigue will be gone and you are allowed to spend 1 hour as you’re watching them at close range. You can take pictures, witness them as they play and make loud calls, this is one of the most interesting activity that you will make your trip a cheerful one .After the trekking, you will get back to the lodge for late lunch and later drive to visit Musanze Caves from where you will spend the evening. Day 4: Second Gorilla Tracking at Volcanoes National Park
The second chance is here for you to maximum experience gorilla trekking adventure in the volcanoes national park. You will again assemble at the head quarter for briefing again and this time around, you may be allocated to track another different gorilla group. After the trekking, you can spend the rest of your evening at Ibyiwacu culture village experiencing the Rwandan culture. Dinner and overnight stay at mountain gorilla view lodge (luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (mid-range), Muhabura Hotel (budget).
Day 5. Golden monkey tracking, Dian fossey hike and transfer to Lake Kivu.
After the morning breakfast, you may decide to go for golden monkey tracking just like gorilla tracking or you hike to a Dian fossey up to Karisoke research center. Learn more about her activities as she was one of person who dedicated her life to conserve mountain gorillas that were being poached at that time. She was killed and buried there which there became one of the tourist attraction in the volcanoes .you will later transfer to Lake Kivu where you’re to spend a night. Diner and overnight stay at; Lake Kivu Serena (luxury), Paradise Marahide (mid-range), Palme Resort Hotel (budget).
Day 6. Boat cruise and transfer back to Kigali.
After a morning breakfast, you will drive around Lake Kivu as you enjoy the beautiful scenery of islands around the magnificent water body. You will lake have a boat cruise on the lake as you enjoy the cool breeze from fresh waters of Lake Kivu. Return back to the lodge for lunch and drive back to Kigali or to the airport for your departure.
