Engagi Lodge is a contemporary lodge in breathtaking scenery with fabulous views over the forest canopy in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park . The lodge is located in a large area of land adjoining to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, and runs from the main road to the Park Headquarters down to the Muyanga River.
The lodge has been constructed using indigenous materials and a local labor force. It is built from rocks that are in and around the site and eucalyptus trees while the rooms are thatched with banana fibre obtained from indigenous farmers.
The foremost lodge building is shared into a bar together with sitting room, the dining room and a large outdoor terrace watching platform. The lodge building is large enough to accommodate for greater groups but still allows for smaller individual groups to spread out in the various different areas for privacy.
The kitchen is constructed away from the lodge to ensure privacy, prepares a variety of 3 course meals and clients requirements (Vegetarians) provided by our team of qualified Kampala expert chefs.
The lodge comprises of just 8 private cottages, spread out and concealed in the greenery. Every cottage has got either double or twin beds, private bathroom with flushing toilets and hot and cold running water. All have reserved verandahs where visitors can enjoy their morning tea or coffee as they watch out over the forest canopy.
Electrical energy is delivered by solar power with a back-up generator. Hot water is delivered by eco-friendly wood burning boilers. The reception area has been built up near the Buhoma road and we have a huge secure parking both of these are a good distance away from the main lodge buildings.
