Day 1: Visit Kigali Genocide Memorial and the transfer to Kisoro Town in Uganda
You will be picked up from the airport or from a hotel in Kigali, visit the Kigali genocide memorial and start the journey to Uganda taking about 3 to 4 hours on the road through Cyanika Border post. Dinner and overnight stay at Kisoro Travelers’ Hotel on full board.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Get breakfast and transfer to the park offices to begin your gorilla trekking excursion in the forests of Mgahinga. You will get some briefing from a local guide and then set off to the forest equipped with packed lunch. The time taken is usually 3- 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Facing eye to eye with mountain gorillas is one of the most electrifying experiences you can ever have. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures and you will enjoy them from a close range observing adults feeding, groaning and resting as the youngsters play around in an enjoyably amusing demo. After trekking gorillas, return to the Kisoro town for overnight in preparation for the next day’s Golden Monkey trekking in the same park. Dinner and overnight stay at Kisoro Travelers’ Hotel on full board.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda
After breakfast, drive back to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park this time for Golden monkey trekking. Golden Monkey tracking in Mgahinga is demanded by tourists almost as mountains gorillas. Visitors to Mgahinga as well have a choice to track the golden monkeys that are undergoing research studies. Golden Monkeys are so much lively primates; this is demonstrated by the way they leap from tree to tree with ease in a very entertaining way. Golden monkeys are bouncy, lively and insensitive and regularly take their time jumping from one bamboo branches to another or skipping on the forest ground towards the base of the volcanoes Park. These primate species have outgrown their original shyness into accepting daily visits by tourists and researchers at the park. After this trekking excursion, you will drive back to Kisoro for overnight and dinner at Kisoro Travelers’ Hotel on full board.
Day 4: Drive Back to Kigali in Rwanda for your Departure Flight
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kigali. You will have
lunch and be transferred to the airport for a flight schedule. End of Tour
