Gorilla Trekking Certificate: Given for Finishing a Gorilla Trek

A Gorilla Trekking Certificate is a document given to tourists after accomplishing the trekking safari in the park. A certficate is given to visitors for remembrance of such a lifetime adventure in the jungle.Prior to mountain gorilla trekking, visitors are required to present gorilla permits to the park management to be allowed into the national park. Then after trekking the gorillas, you go back to the park offices where you are given a gorilla trekking certificate.

Gorilla Trekking Services offer gorilla tours in Uganda, Rwanda and the DR Congo. All the gorilla national parks offer gorilla trekking certificates to the visitors after the adventure. In Uganda, Mountain gorillas live in the tropical forests of Bwindi National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in south western Uganda. In Rwanda, gorillas inhabit the forests of the Volcanoes National Park and in Congo, you can only trek mountain gorillas in the Virunga National Park in the south eastern side of the country. Gorillas in Uganda, Rwanda or Congo are trekked by their groups. Eight visitors are allocated a given gorilla family for tracking. After the gorilla adventure, a certificate issued would indicated the bearer’s name, date and the group trekked plus other details.

In Uganda, the gorilla trekking certificate is issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). UWA is a government body that manages and supervises all national parks and wildlife reserves in Uganda. The park management issues the certificate to every visitor after trekking the endangered primate species.

Rwanda Trekking Certificate

In Rwanda, gorilla visitors in the Volcanoes National Park are given trekking certificates by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB). RDB is a government body in charges tourism and other government agencies. Mountain gorillas in Rwanda are trekked in groups.

Congo Certificate After a Tour

Once you finish tracking gorillas in the Virunga National Park, a certificate is issued by the park authorities in recognition of your trekking efforts. A gorilla permit in Congo is at USD 400 per person. A certificate is issued after trekking the Virunga gorillas. For Congo gorilla safaris, one may enter Uganda and trek gorillas in Virunga or go through Rwanda to Congo.
