Inema Arts Center, Gallery for Creative Art in Kigali Rwanda

Inema Arts Center is an arts gallery and centre found in Kigali City, the capital city of Rwanda. The center was set up in 2012 by two brotherly painters namely; Innocent Nkurunziza and Emmanuel Nkuranga. The arts center spurs creativity for personal, social and economic development. The duo brothers set up Inema in order to tap the untapped potential of art in Rwanda, use the creative expression as a way to bring the community and country alive. They also wanted to offer exposure to creative people and to make opportunities for Rwanda’s most undeserved communities while using creativity for a productive livelihood. At present, the center has become a beacon of Art in Rwanda for propagating creative expression.

Inema Arts Center is a collection of Rwanda’s creative artists and it provides space for 10 artists in residence to explore their creative talent.

Activities

Inema Arts Gallery extends its programs via a range of weekly events and activities designed to enrich your experience. And the programs entail yoga classes, painting sessions and personalized guided tours among the many.

The Inema Art Gallery features sculptures, portraits and other artistic material made and demonstrated by the center’s artists. The center also undertakes a number of projects and activities geared towards promoting the creative arts in Rwanda and giving a platform for creative expression through workshops, training as well as practical instruction.

The center provides residential space for 10 artists to explore and discover their creative talents specializing in modern African Arts, Crafts and Dance. The artists at Inema also produce sculptures, paintings and mixed media expressions demonstrated at the Gallery.

At large, the Center is focal point for programmes, projects as well as initiatives that expand creative arts in Rwanda and beyond.
