Kihihi AirstripKihihi Airstrip is an airfield in the north of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and mainly used by those going for gorilla trekking adventures. The airstrip in Kambuga sub county in Kanungu district serves tourists using air transport to conveniently fly to Bwindi Impenetrable forest or the Ishasha Sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Fly Entebbe to Kihihi Airstrip and Trek Gorillas in Buhoma

When you take a flight from Entebbe either by charter or scheduled flying, you will land at Kihihi and then transfer by road the lodge. Some of the lodges in Buhoma region include Mahogany Springs, Silverback Lodge, Bwindi Forest Lodge, Buhoma Lodge, Engagi Lodge, Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge, Haven Lodge Buhoma Community and many more. On landing at the airfield, a waiting driver guide picks you up and transfer to the lodge where you would be treated to the best home experience. Most lodges are not far from this airstrip. Expect to take approximately 20 to 40 minutes or less to arrive at a given accommodation. The same drive who drops you to the lodge will pick you on the day of gorilla trekking, transfer to park offices for briefing before proceeding to the location of the allocated gorilla family for tracking. After trekking Engagi, a local name for gorillas, drive back to the lodge for overnight. On the last day, you will be transferred to Kihihi Airstrip for you flight back to Entebbe. In case of a chartered flight, days may be less since one can fly early and trek gorillas, or stay one night, walk to see them on day two and fly back to Entebbe. It all depends of the arrangement one makes with the safari organizer.
