Mount Zulia

Mount Zulia

Mount Zulia, also known as Losolia, is located in the Karamoja region of northeastern Uganda, within Kidepo Valley National Park. It reaches an elevation of 2,149 meters (7,051 feet) and is situated near Mount Morungole, as well as the Labwor and Dodoth Hills, all of which rise above 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) above sea level.

The Toposa people of Eastern Equatoria believe that their ancestors originated in the Losolia Mountains, fleeing during severe droughts that led to the loss of both human lives and livestock. This mountain area is partially protected by the Mount Zulia Forest Reserve.

The mountain can be hiked in one day, similar to the Lower Imatong Mountains. For hiking in this region, the best months are from September to February. In comparison, nearby Mount Langia, which stands at 3,029 meters, requires one or two days for the trek.
