Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali City Rwanda
When you arrive at Kigali International Airport, a guide from our company will receive at the airport. You will immediately start the journey to Volcanoes National Park for an overnight stay before gorilla trekking the next day. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest lodge or hotel Chez Lando or Kinigi guest house. (BB)
Day 2: Rwanda Gorilla Safari Trek in Volcanoes Park
This is a day of gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park, an attraction where Gorillas in Rwanda are found. Depending on the level of fitness, you may be allowed to choose any of the gorilla families in Rwanda you wish to visit basing on your preferences and conditions. The closest being about 2 hours or even a couple of minutes from the park boundary. With your gorilla permit in your hands, you will get pre trekking briefing before leaving the park offices for the encounter. Meals and overnight at the Mountain Gorillas’ Nest Lodge or hotel Chez Lando or Kinigi guest house. (FB)
Day 3: Tour to Dian Fossey Grave site
Have an early morning hike to the Famous Dian Fossey Research center and Grave Yard. Where Dr. Fossey, a renowned primatologist spent close to two decades habituating, studying and conserving the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Overnight at the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge in Kinigi or Hotel Chez Lando or Kinigi guest house. (FB)
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Morning breakfast then transfer to Nyungwe Forest. This Forest contains a variety of habitats including montane forest, bamboo, grasslands, swamps and bogs, and is very mountainous too. It provides some of the best Monkey trekking experiences in East Africa. Meals and Overnight at Gisakura Guest House. (FB)
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking Safari in Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast, start the morning Chimpanzee trekking expedition in the forest in search of colonies of habituated Golden Monkeys. Other wildlife in the forest include: grey-cheeked mangabeys, blue monkeys, Angolan colobus, L’hoest’s monkeys and owl-faced monkeys. Meals and overnight at Gisakura Guest House.
Day 6: Return to Kigali, do a Genocide Memorial Tour
Leave Nyungwe in the morning, arrive in Kigali city in the afternoon/evening and use that remaining period to visit the Genocide Memorial where remains of thousands of Tutsis and moderate Hutus are preserved. Meals and overnight at the Hotel Des Mille Collines.
Day 7: Fly out of Rwanda
Transfer to the airport for your next flight. End of the Rwanda Gorilla Safaris and Tours.
