Tourist Activities in Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park is one of the tourist attractions in western Uganda. There are several tourists activities that this small park offers. The park is a solid jewel, positioned expediently along the highway that joins Kampala to other national parks in western Uganda.

Western Uganda parks include Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth, Mgahinga, Rwenzori Mountains and Kibale National Park plus a variety of other tour attractions. Mburo the tiniest among the savannah national parks in Uganda. The is a habitat for species of 350 birds plus plenty of animals like zebras, elands, impala, buffaloes, oribi, leopard, Defassa waterbuck, hyena, hippo, reedbuck and topis among others.

Combined with 13 other lakes nearby, Lake Mburo is part a portion of a 50 kilometre-long wetland system interconnected by a marsh. Of these lakes, five are within the borders of the park. The park that was at time covered by an open savanna, it has much woodland presently since there are no elephants to destroy the vegetation system. Mburo’s western side is characterized by the savanna is intermingled with rocky elevations and woodland canyons as spots of papyrus swamp and slim ensembles of swanky riparian forest are along several lakes.
