Uganda Reptile Village Entebbe
Uganda Reptile Village Entebbe is a home to various types of confined reptiles available for tourists. The Village also widely known as Entebbe Snake Park can be visited by travelers coming from or going to Entebbe International Airport before or after some safari tours in Uganda respectively. This reptile hub is one of the tourist attractions in Entebbe town, the gateway to Uganda. The reptile center can also be explored by someone on a 1 day Entebbe City tour which involves visiting all the major picnic places around Entebbe peninsula.
At this reptile village, you will find some of the world’s deadliest snakes like the mambas, puff adders, Gabon Viper, Forest Cobra, Nile Monitor, Leopard Tortoise and the Jacksons Chameleon among others. There are also chameleons, crocodile and lizards all of which were either rescued or injured before being brought to this place. It’s around 3km off the Entebbe–Kampala road, about a 20-minute drive from Entebbe. The snake park situated alone Kampala-Entebbe Highway, 3 kilometers off Abaita- Ababiri is an artificial home to about 50 reptiles and over 20 reptile species.
Some of the objectives for setting up this reptile park was to educate people about how to overcome the fear of reptiles in case they encounter them. Protection and conservation of the reptile species is another fundamental goal for this tourist place.
