9 Days Uganda Tour and Safaris

Uganda Safari  Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda through Entebbe International airport.

Our driver guide will welcome you and transfer to Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 2:  Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Our guide will pick you and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park going through Wakiso, Luwero, Nakasongola, Masindi, where you can have lunch and advance to the park in the evening. You will carry on through the park stopping at the top of the falls which is an incredible scene indeed because it’s where the Nile, Africa’s the longest river goes through a narrow crevice  in the rock (only 7 meters wide), before violently dipping down 43 meters. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Camp, Pakuba Safari Lodge, Sambiya River Lodge, Luxury Paraa Safari Lodge

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and afternoon Boat Trip

Take a cup of tea and go for an early morning game drive on the northern bank. You will cross using a ferry to the Northern bank for the game drive if you had your over night in one of the lodges in the southern Bank of river Nile.  Your guide will aid you to spot hartebeest, elephants, lions, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffes, water-bucks, oribi, bush bucks, bohor reed bucks, hyenas, and leopards that are not very common.  Then return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast and rest for a short time.

After lunch, take an afternoon trip to the foot of Murchison Falls. This boat cruise along the Nile is regularly regarded as the highlight of a trip to Murchison Falls because it makes meet animals along the shoreline of the Victoria Nile that  take water for swimming. On this river stretch, there are around 4,000 hippos in addition to some mammoth Nile crocodiles. The bird life is astonishing with brilliantly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters darting along the riverbanks. You may notice the distinguished shoebill stork. The boat takes you to the base of the falls which is also a awe-inspiring moment. Then retire to the lodge for overnight and dinner.

Day 3: Drive to Kibale National Park

Leave Murchison in the morning for Fort Portal going through the Albertine escarpment via Hoima reaching Fort portal town in the late afternoon. Overnight and dinner at Chimps nest, Rujuni Guest house, Rwenzori View Guest House, Ndali lodge, Primate lodge and Mountains of the moons lodge

Day 4:  Chimpanzee Trekking, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Uganda tourAfter a morning breakfast, report to the ranger station in Kibale National Park at 08.00 am to track adapted chimps. The incredibly diverse forest is home to over 13 species of primates including red Colobus monkey, the rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, black-faced vervet monkeys, baboons and bush babies. A complex of dappled forest trails provides much to joy botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a joy with an excessive 335 species recorded including the widespread Prirogrine’s ground thrush. Mammals include buffalo, giant forest hog and a half-dozen antelope species. Then in the evening, drive to Queen Elizabeth National park for your overnight and dinner at Mweya Safari Lodge, Enganzi Lodge or Jacana safari lodge.

Day 5: Morning Game Drives and Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Take breakfast and for an early morning game drive, seeing animals like buffalo, lions, Elephants, antelopes, hyenas among other species. After lunch at the lodge, relax briefly and take an afternoon Kazinga channel boat trip helping you to coming close hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The channel banks host an array of birds like the pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others.  Then drive back to the lodge.

Day 6: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park through the seasonal southern sector of Queen Elizabeth called Ishasha. Take lunch by the Ishasha River and try spot the tree-climbing lions before continuing to Bwindi, home to mountain gorillas. Birding and primate tracking in Bwindi is pretty splendid and there is an unbelievable multiplicity of flora. Bwindi is the Bird watchers heaven harboring over 348 varieties of birds.

The dense eternally green forest supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that exist in Uganda; and seven red data book species. Once continuous with the forests of the Virunga Volcanoes (Dian Fossey’s stomping ground), Bwindi is a conservation land mass, surrounded by cultivation on the rich volcanic soils. Overnight at Bwindi View Bandas, Buhoma Bandas, Lake Kitandara, Gorilla Forest Camp, Gorilla Resort camp, Buhoma Home stead and Engagi Lodge.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

mountain-gorillasEnergize yourself with breakfast for gorilla tracking.  Go to the ranger station for registration and briefing. Then the guides will take you via the bush pushing your way through the scrub to track the gorillas taking between 30 minutes to nine hours, where physical energy and strong pair of walking shoes are essential.  Any gorilla encounter makes the trip worthwhile despite the long and backbreaking wander. It is astounding to know that there are only about 650 of these oversize primates left.  Go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Leave for Lake Mburo National Park; do an evening Boat Cruise.

Move to Lake Mburo National park and have lunch in Mbarara before proceeding to the park for an evening boat ride or a game drive. Dinner and overnight Rwonyo Camp, Arcadia cottages, Mantana Luxury tented Camp and Mihingo lodge.

Day 9: Game Drive and return to Kampala

Take a game drive in the morning searching for the Eland, topis, Zebras and more Savannah wildlife. You will later drive to Kampala having lunch en route .Take a stopover at the Equator. Arrive in Kampala in the evening.
