Waterfalls in Uganda

There are several Waterfalls in Uganda that work as attractions for the country. Uganda, a the Pearl of Africa and a country gifted by nature has got various water falls spread across the various parts of the country. These falls add to the list of several tourist attractions that the country is endowed with. Below are some of the major falls that tourists in country visit while on safaris and tours to to different areas.

The Uganda waterfalls are visited during nature walks as you appreciate the beauty of Uganda. Most tour operators in Uganda embed visiting these falls as extra activities after the major tours. For instance, Ssezibwa Falls, Griffin falls, Itanda falls and Kalagala falls may be toured during a one or two day tour of Jinja.

Sipi and Sisiyi falls are some of the major waterfalls on Mount Elgon National Park. So a visit to the park for hiking means incorporating the two falls in the tour programme. Murchison Falls are the biggest falls in Uganda with a whole park, Murchison Falls National Park named after them. When you visit the park, you will be able to enjoy a game drive safari in Uganda’s biggest park. In the same park is where you find the magnificent Top of the Falls.This is a spot where River Nile, the world’s longest river forces itself through a narrow rock to get a passage. This is an incredible scene loved by many visitors to Murchison Fall National Park.
