Wildlife Safaris Uganda
Uganda wildlife Safaris are done in 10 national parks and a few game reserves, which the country known as the “Pearl of Africa” has. Uganda has a lot to offer in the area of wildlife safaris. Visitors to these parks enjoy what are widely termed as; Game drives in the mornings or afternoons in open roofed safari vehicles in search of wild animals (mammals and birds).
These wildlife safaris are undertaken by professional driver guides with the help of park rangers where necessary. The national parks in Uganda where wildlife safaris and tours take place include Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park. Gorilla treekking tours take place in these two parks where nature and forest walks can also be carried out after gorilla safaris. Others are Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kibale National Park, Semuliki Game Reserve, Murchison Falls National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park and Lake Mburo National Park.
Of course not forgetting Rwenzori National Park and Mount Elgon National Park where climbing or hiking activities take place. There is nothing more amazing and thrilling as spotting animals like lions or leopards especially when they are hunting for or having their prey for a meal from a closer range.
The Rift Valley sceneries and humid woodlands of Uganda’s national parks make dramatic frameworks to a wide-ranging diversity of plants and animals. Run by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), Uganda national parks provide some superlative grassland safaris together with boat tours, forest walks, mountain hiking plus flora and fauna research accomplishments. On the African continent, Uganda is unequalled as a birding destination with an estimated 1,000 bird species. Quite a number of these species of birds are uncommon anywhere on the globe. Uganda is also habitat to about 13 types of primates together with over half of the earth’s rare mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, man’s closest relatives.
